“Recovery” is the first solo album of Austria-based cosmopolitan Christian Eigner, who has a habit of joining Depeche Mode onstage and in the studio to be their drummer.
“Go” and “Stalking” were put through the remix-process by some of the finest producers around for this 12".
Kid Loco continues his surfing of the style-waves with his percussive and hypnotic rework of “Go”. Driven by modulations of the original hookline and some belligerent drones, Kid Loco delivers a pumping Track, marching right to the center of the dancefloor, taking it.
Smitty inforces the strengths of the original “Go” and plays with variations of the artform “extended version” itself. Equipped with a new bassline, trimmed Drumsection, some outlandish synths and a handful of found sound, it’s the perfect start to an energetic DJ-Set or a tasty afterhour.
„Stalking“ is remodeled by Dj Naughty, the italian shooting star, hailing from berlin. Handclaps meet analogue synths meet interlocked hihats equals serious hip movements on the floor.
Christian Candid always finds time to deliver some of the finest reworks of tracks. For “Stalking”, he found a tender, intimate Outfit, complete with tablas and various percussions. Guitars hissing from the nearby echo-chamber, an acoustic bass and an organ attend the scene – a subtle and beautiful rework emerges.
Many may have not yet heard of the fabolous Viennese Duo Microthol, who dedicated their work to the exclusive use of analogue equipment. But that ought to change. With their treatment of “Stalking”, they render the original pop-song to a minimal/magical/exotic-SciFi-Theme straight from an imaginary John Carpenter-Movie.
